Ralph Nevins Award conferred on BYG Associate Professor Zhecho Bolashikov

 

During recent ASHRAE 2015 Annual Meeting in Atlanta Assoc. Prof. Zhecho Bolashikov from the International Centre for Indoor Environment and Energy (ICIEE), DTU Civil Engineering, Technical University of Denmark (DTU) was awarded Ralph Nevins Award. The Award is given to a promising investigator, preferably less than 40 years of age, for significant accomplishment in the general area of man's response to the environment, which may include thermal, moisture, visual, acoustical, toxic, allergic, olfactory, vibrational and microbiological effects on man's health, comfort and well-being. Among previous recipients of this Award there are Prof. Bjarne Olesen (1982), Prof. Geo Clausen (1991), Assoc. prof. Jørn Toftum (1999), Assoc. Prof. Lei Fang (2000) and Assoc. Prof. Pawel Wargocki (2002) all employed at ICIEE, DTU Civil Engineering. Among previous recipients of this Award there are Prof. Bjarne Olesen (1982), Prof. Geo Clausen (1991), Assoc. prof. Jørn Toftum (1999), Assoc. Prof. Lei Fang (2000) and Assoc. Prof. Pawel Wargocki (2002) all currently employed at ICIEE, DTU Civil Engineering. Previous recipients include also guests and PhD students who visited and studied at ICIEE in the past including Prof. Shin-ichi Tanabe (1990) from Waseda University in Tokyo, Prof. Richard de Dear (1993) from The University of Sydney, Dr Henry Willem (2008) and Dr Benjamin Yan Bing (2014) from the National University of Singapore, Assoc. Prof. Jan Kaczmarczyk (2011) from Silesian University in Gliwice and Dr Stefano Schiavon (2014) now at University of California, Berkeley.

 

At the same event Prof. John Spengler from Harvard School of Public Health who was awarded Honorary Doctorate from DTU and has long term collaboration with ICIEE received Environmental Health Award. The Award is given to individuals to recognize excellence in volunteer service focused on environmental health issues.
